Service Description: Community-based program assists those with mental illnesses or disorders that have an incident or conflict with the criminal justice system

Services and programs available:
  • court support services in criminal courts located in Barrie, Midland, Collingwood, Orillia and Penetanguishene
  • court diversion program for those charged with minor criminal offenses
  • release from custody services for inmates being discharged from Central North Correctional Centre in Penetanguishene
  • consultation
  • support and education
  • referrals to community resources
  • case management services

Release from Custody - Assists youth 16 years and older who reside in the North Simcoe Muskoka district who may be at risk of involvement/re-involvement in the criminal justice system. Release and discharge planning for community reintegration.

Application: Self referral * individual referral * agency referral
Eligibility / Target Population: Youth 16 years and older * Youth 12-17 years involved with the criminal justice system * Adults 18 years and older identifying as dual diagnosis
