New Director, Strategic Communications

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Paul McIvor, an accomplished communications leader with 24 years of experience in the private and public sectors, as our new Director, Strategic Communications and Public Affairs.  Paul will be joining Waypoint on January 20, 2025.  

A seasoned communications and strategy leader, Paul brings a solid depth of knowledge and extensive experience in strategic communications, public policy development, advocacy, stakeholder relations and team building. He has spent much of his career in the healthcare sector, from government to acute care hospitals to the private sector. 

Most recently, he was interim Director of Communications and Public Affairs at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicines. His previous roles include: Chief Corporate Communications Officer, London Health Sciences Centre and Director of Public and Corporate Affairs at the Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care. Paul holds the Certified Health Executive designation from the Canadian College of Health Leaders. He earned a BA from the University of Toronto and an MA from the University of South Africa.

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Paul as he helps take Waypoint forward, growing awareness and engagement as we embark on a new strategic plan in 2025.
