Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH), in collaboration with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, declared a gastroenteric outbreak on the health centre’s Transitional Care Unit on March 17.
Twelve patients and two staff have tested positive and have been isolated. Enhanced cleaning measures are underway, and all contact precautions are being taken.
Admissions to the unit are on hold at this time and visitors are not permitted, however, some exceptions may apply.
