COVID-19 Outbreak on CGMH's Surgical Unit confirmed over

In collaboration with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) the COVID-19 outbreak that were declared on Collingwood General & Marine Hospital's (CGMH) Surgical Unit on August 10th has now been declared over.

During this timeframe contact tracing for patients and employees was conducted, impacted patients were isolated and enhanced cleaning measures were implemented.

The Surgical Unit has now reopened for visitors in accordance with Phase 3 of its Designated Visitor policy.

The Medial Unit remains in outbreak status and no visitors are permitted on this unit at this time.

CGMH is tremendously appreciative of all employees and credentialed staff for their dedication and efforts over the summer months, as they continue to provide outstanding care to CGMH patients and the South Georgian Bay community.
