Alcohol Exposed

The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit Injury and Substance Misuse Prevention team is excited to announce the second phase of the How Many Drinks campaign—more affectionately known as Alcohol Exposed.  This Facebook campaign is building on our efforts to raise awareness about the low-risk drinking guidelines and the link between alcohol and chronic disease.

Alcohol Exposed is a PhotoVoice/VideoVoice contest to encourage residents of Simcoe Muskoka to post photos and videos reflecting alcohol in their community, and to discuss how they feel about it. It focuses on the pervasiveness of alcohol in our communities, like the extent of alcohol advertising, the number of licensed establishments, or the ease of acquiring alcohol, as a few examples.

Please visit our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/howmanydrinks, and share this link with colleagues, family, friends and clients. Entering is as simple as posting a photo or video. The contest runs until August 8, and anyone who enters has the chance to win prizes Monday to Friday, and also one of two grand prizes valued at $500 each, awarded to the photo and video with the most Likes! Also, be sure to check out and share our contest launch video.

Anyone can join in the discussion by sharing comments on posted pictures and videos, and you can also have your say by letting us know which are your favourites by Liking them. Let’s make this a community affair!
