Description:  The Clinical Nurse Educator leads and supports quality care outcomes through educational program planning, collaboration with members of the interprofessional team, implementation and evaluation processes to enhance knowledge, skills, and professionalism of clinical staff. The mission, vision, and values of the Interprofessional Practice Program are achieved through education, clinical practice, and research processes.

Please Note: Portfolios among Clinical Nurse Educators may change at any time to meet program needs. However, current requirement is for a Clinical Nurse Educator in Emergency Department.

I.Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required.
II.Master’s degree preferred.

I.Minimum of five years recent full time clinical practice experience with demonstrated clinical excellence in critical care, Emergency Department preferred.
II.Previous Clinical Nurse Educator experience is required.
III.Previous Professional Practice experience is preferred.

I.Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario is required.
II.Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) Certification preferred or started within one year of start date of Clinical Educator position. Must maintain CNA Certification once obtained. ENC (C)
III.Critical Care Certificate or Emergency Nursing Certificate from approved institution required
IV.ECG interpretation and 12 lead ECG application and interpretation preferred
V.Current TNCC is required.
VI.Current ENPC is required.
VII.Current PALS is preferred.
VIII.Current BCLS is required.
IX.Current ACLS is required.

I.Registered Nurses of Ontario Membership (RNAO) required.
II.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
III.Demonstrated ability to manage change and to foster an environment which promotes professional development.
IV.Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects at one time.
V.Demonstrated ability to achieve goals and objectives within a specified time frame.
VI.Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Salary:  $38.56 - $49.02/hour (to be discussed)
