The David Busby Centre will be relocated at the former Central United Church at 54 Ross St. which is now owned by Victoria Village effective June 25th, 2018 through to the end of October The Busby Street Centre is excited to announce that they are ready to execute their Phase 2 expansion of Shared Social Services HUB project to include group lodging by fall 2018 * during the renovation phase starting June 25, 2018 through to end of October, Victoria Village has agreed to share its space with them In extreme weather acts as a Cooling/Warming Station * hours available Mon-Fri 8 am-3 pm

Service Description: Provides the following services in a safe and inclusive environment:
  • Individual counseling
  • Housing support services
  • Case Management
  • Practical and basic needs
  • Free clothing
  • Shower facilities
  • Administrative support (assistance with form filling, obtaining ID, etc)
  • phone and mail services (can use phone number and address of David Busby Centre as a contact point for people with no permanent address or phone)
  • Addiction support
  • Infant/Baby needs and supplies (diapers, formula and food, depending on donations)
  • Health care services
  • Mental health services
  • Harm reduction services
  • Referral services
  • Mobile Outreach Service

Housing Support Services:
Housing Access Worker available to help people find permanent housing by:
  • assisting with accessing funding for utility and rent related expenses
  • assisting with accessing funding for support services needed for individuals with a disability or mental illness who are unable to live independently without care, supervision and/or support
  • providing landlord/tenant mediation
  • providing referrals to community resources
  • maintaining a landlord registry
  • maintaining a housing registry of houses, townhouses, apartments, rooms and shared accommodation

Christmas Luncheon: provides annual December luncheon(s) for all members of the community * frequency and date depend on number of volunteers and donations * all held during centre hours Mon-Fri * 2017 dinner will be held December 21st at Collier St United Church, 112 Collier St from 11 am-2 pm

Central Intake for Overnight Shelter: provides Central Intake for overnight shelter from mid November - end of April each year

Breakfast Program: Mon-Fri 9 am-10 am, oatmeal, cereal, toast, fruit, juice served, all welcome, no restrictions
