Service Description: Literacy, numeracy and essential skills services to assist in transitioning to employment, apprenticeship, secondary-school credit, post-secondary education or independence.

Essential skills tutoring for learners 19 years of age and older: 1. literacy - reading, comprehension, spelling and writing (English and English as a Second Language - ESL); 2. numeracy - math; 3. computers (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); and 4. access to information (internet, scan, fax, phone and assistance with Government forms) to assist learners to participate in more meaningful education (secondary-school credits/GED, post-secondary, apprenticeship), employment and community life.

We provide free, and confidential, essential skills assessments to all potential learners; learners can choose to participate in a 1-to-1 or small class setting; all learners are eligible for training support dollars and through coordinated service delivery we provide referrals to many community agencies.

English as a second Language tutoring available

VOLUNTEERS
We welcome volunteers to help us with: student tutoring, office assistance, fundraising, promotional events and to participate on our Board of Directors.

EMPLOYERS
Employers who wish to help their employees improve their essential skills can contact LLSM to discuss training opportunities.
